All lessons are held remotely via Zoom at scheduled times (GMT – London time). Please note: there is no on-demand or recorded version of the course available.
The course includes interactive activities and group discussions for all participants. To encourage active engagement and protect participants’ privacy, sessions will not be recorded.
Once the course is purchased, you will receive an email containing the Zoom link for the lessons and further instructions.
The course will run with a minimum of three participants and is limited to a maximum of six to ensure a personalised learning experience. If the course does not take place, a full refund will be issued.

Looking at Art: Rebels

Discover English through rebellious art

This course uses provocative, unconventional artworks to develop language skills while encouraging students to question norms, express opinions, and engage in meaningful discussion. Each artist represents a different kind of rebellion.

Pauline Boty – gender roles and media culture
Tracey Emin – identity, emotion, and personal narrative
Banksy – politics, capitalism, and society through street art
Recap – Presentation Project

During the course, you will be asked to work on your own short presentation project and will be asked to present it in the last session of the course.

The course consists of four 90-minute lessons, each run over three consecutive weeks.

Looking at Art offers a powerful alternative to traditional language learning. Instead of focusing on neutral, predictable topics, it immerses learners in bold, emotionally charged material that naturally stimulates communication, reflection, and deeper cognitive engagement.
